INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MEALS DAY

Background
After going through the British Council website and email regarding International School Meals Day we decided to conduct some activities classwise related to the topic.

What we did / what we are doing
The activities we organised are running between the 1-4 March 2014 and are as follows:
1. Classes VI – VIII : Sharing Recipes from different states of India
2. Class IX : A talk show on the topic : Love Food, Hate Waste
3. Class X : Writing articles for newspapers on the topic ” The importance of healthy eating”
A few activities will also be conducted for pre-primary and primary classes on 5 – 6 March 2014.

Outcome(s)
From classes VI to VIII : Children came to learn about the unique Food Recipes of the various states of India which are prepared on the special occasions like Festivals, Weddings etc.

Class IX & X : Children were made aware about the importance of Healthy Food for a Healthy Body. They wrote good articles on the importance of healthy eating for the newspapers which will be sent to the city newspapers to publish.

Next steps
Some activities will also be conducted for pre-primary & primary classes on 5 – 6 March 2014.
