2016 – Taylor Shaw – International Menu Day

Background

After the success of participating in INSMD 2015 by developing the ‘International Bake Off’ with our school in Sheffield connecting with two schools (Pakistan and America) via the British Schools Council Online, Taylor Shaw wanted to be involved in the fourth ‘International School Meals Day’ 2016.

What we did/what are we doing?

The school was given a choice of international food themed menus to choose from to celebrate International School Meals Day 2016. Greenhill Primary Sheffield opted to choose the Italian Themed menu.

The school has been encouraged to use the Thunderclap tool on Twitter to show their support for International School Meals Day 2016.

Outcomes

To enjoy food from around the world and learn about the similarities and differences between our two countries.

Next Steps

Taylor Shaw aim to continue to support INSMD with internationally themed menus and food items to widen children’s food experiences.
